Hi.

Have a look at your life, one post at a time.

Hi my girls!

Happy new year my loves. How the hell are ya? It’s my first day back at work after a nice holiday break. Fairly quiet today, which I will gladly accept. Been a hot minute since I wrote to ya so figured I’d check in to share some updates. Not too much going on thankfully. You’re both getting so big, it’s crazy.

Biggest thing since the last time I wrote is that we went to New York for Thanksgiving - Isla’s first flight! It was great to see all of our family and friends. Time flew by when we were there. I got some pictures coming up at the end of this post so you can see what it was like.

Isla, you’re sitting up now! And you say Mama, Dada and Baba. You’ve got two bottom teeth that came in together and you’re SO close to crawling. Just like Avery, you’re able to get yourself up in the crawling position but then you end up going backwards lol. We celebrated your very first Christmas and it was so much fun. You were mostly uninterested but when you saw a toy you liked you started flapping your arms like a little bird lol. These days you’re pretty mobile for someone who can’t crawl, rolling around and trying real hard to pull yourself up. I think you’ll be crawling within the month and walking pretty quickly thereafter. You’re also eating lots of different foods now. It’s funny, when we eat, you stare at Mom and yell at her until she gives you a bite of what she’s eating haha. I can’t say you have a favorite food yet but you did really like the flavor on some Mediterranean Pita chips I was giving you last week so you might be our adventurous one with food. You also are real into music. Every time I play guitar you stop crying and watch so intensely. You were even strumming my acoustic the other day as Mama held you.

As for little miss Avie Javie, you are a mega big girl now. You go back to school in a little over a week but you had a really great Christmas break. Santa brought you some awesome stuff (like your big wooden dollhouse) and lots of other toys we’ve been playing. Over the break we went to the aquarium and we went ice skating. We play a lot of Hide E.T. which I love. We hide him all around the house. And we also play doctor and cooking and we make puzzles. You're developing into quite the dancer as well, performing for us almost daily. You also seem to have the music in you so maybe we can all jam one day.

Mom and I are hangin in. Nothing too major to share, both still adjusting to having two kids to keep happy lol. We love both of you so so much but ya’ll are a lot! Hard to keep up with both of you and keep the house clean and find some sense of balance. Wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world though. I keep writing songs and mom keeps creating beautiful art.

Next up is Avery’s 4th birthday - which is going to be unicorn princess themed. A theme that has been requested and talked about for an entire year lol.

That’s it, back to work.

Love you big time!

Dad
