Allo govnah -
It’s dad and it’s Friday. Kind of a crazy day. I didn’t have too many meetings but we had a last minute ask come through late in the day and had to turn around content quickly. Always fun. But honestly, makes me feel like we’re a vital part of the team which I would assume bodes well for long-term job security. Apparently there was a call today where the head of the brand practice assured everyone that jobs would not be lost coming out of coronavirus but I can’t say I believe that with full certainty. We are def going to lose some business, but hopefully the amount of brands that need a plan to get back on their feet outweigh the ones that walk away.
In other news, mom mentioned that she feels like I don’t talk about her enough in these letters so I wanted to tell you about her. Mom is my favorite person in the whole world. Sorry, but I knew her first and without her there’s no you, so as of this writing, you’re beat. She’s funny and silly and honest. She’s got an effortless way of being the most beautiful woman in every room. Her smile is great but it’s really her laugh that makes me melt. The way her nose dances when she laughs is the absolute best. She’s awful at giving herself credit and she’s way too critical of herself. I wish mom could feel more comfortable sometimes because I don’t think she realizes how amazing she is. I know it’s only been two months, but she’s such a good mom. You love being in her arms and sleeping with her. She knows just what you need when you need it. Something I certainly suck at. Mom’s also one of the most honest, straightforward people I know and I really appreciate that. Sometimes it SUCKS to hear her tell it like it is, but later on you can see why she says it. I love the way she always makes up the wrong words to songs and how she flips the towel over her head after she gets out of the shower. I hope you get all of her qualities + my confidence. That’s why we’re such a good team, I think. Mom let’s my freak flag fly and I pull hers out and then we snap back to reality and make a really great team when it comes time for decision-making. So that’s a little bit about mom and some of my fav stuff. I’m going to make a concerted effort to pepper in more so you get to know her, too. Like I’ve said in previous letters, I love me some me lol.
Love you big time,
Dad
